How to Get Followers on TikTok ASAP in 2024

TLDR: Gaining followers on TikTok isn't a secret dance—well, sometimes it is! It's about being data-savvy, authentic, and consistent. Check out these tips, learn why "best times" might not matter, and get ready to rock your TikTok game!

Seven Tips I've Used to Grow and Monetize Over 25 TikTok Accounts

  1. Turn on Data Analytics: Go into your account settings and make sure you’ve turned on analytics. Data is your best friend on TikTok. If you follow the steps below, it will tell you what’s working and what isn’t.

  2. Post Frequently and Watch the Data: Consistency is key! Decide what type(s) of content you want to create and start posting. Do your best, but don’t be a perfectionist. Be more committed to consistency than perfection. Post consistently and let the data tell you what to do next.

  3. Authenticity is Your Superpower: Your audience can smell a phony through their phone. Be yourself, share what makes you you, and connect with your audience. That’s how you turn a following into a community.

  4. Create a Content Strategy and Stick to It: Develop a plan and execute it like a boss. Consistency in your content whether it's humor, tutorials, educational, aesthetic, or vibes your audience is out there. Be consistent enough to find them.

  5. Embrace New Features: TikTok is constantly testing and introducing new features within the app. To test things, TikTok’s algorithms need data. So naturally, users who try shit get an extra boost in traffic. That way TikTok gets the data they need to know if whatever feature their testing works.

Also, TikTok allows you to unlock different monetization features as you continue to grow your following. Which makes hitting certain goals extra satisfying.

  6. Engage with Other Communities in Your Niche: Find and engage with creators in your niche. Follow, comment, be inspired, and collaborate. Collaboration over competition.

  7. Just Start Posting: Don't let perfectionism make you a procrastinator. It’s not easy, but it’s simple. Just keep creating and posting, then let the data guide your next moves. Don’t overthink it.

Three Reasons Why You Shouldn't Care About "The Best Time to Post on TikTok"

Here’s the thing… Contrary to the information above you don’t have to post at those recommended times to go viral. Your audience might be up at 3 am like I was when I wrote this. So, here are 3 reasons you shouldn’t care about the generally accepted “recommended time to post”.

Reason One: The almighty algorithm will literally tell you what works for you if you post often enough. Focusing solely on 'optimal' posting times might not align with when your audience is most engaged. Let the data, not myths and info you found on Google, guide you.

Reason Two: TikTok's algorithm evolves constantly. Instead of fixating on timing, adapt your strategy to changes in the platform's algorithm. Stay agile and responsive to keep your content visible and engaging.

Reason Three: Quality trumps timing. When I say quality I don’t mean how polished it looks. Quality content simply does whatever it’s supposed to do - whether that’s entertain, educate, or engage. That said, I’ve seen videos I posted 4 weeks ago suddenly go from 2,000 views to 1,000,000 views. When the content is good, it’s practically timeless - it stays relevant beyond specific time slots.
